The Kiss from Picasso
Categories :
Early on a December morning in 1931 Delarue was enthralled by the latest twist in the Defence Minister’s scandalous affair when his newspaper was ripped from his hands – standing in front of him striking an outrageous pose was Dali. He and his friends were off to Picasso’s studio and Mathieu was going too!
The moment he entered the studio he was struck by an image that he couldn’t get from his mind ‘The Kiss’.
Breaking away from Dali and his group, Picasso had seen how engaged the young man was with the painting.
“Do you like it?’ He asked.
Overawed Mathieu just nodes his head. At which point Picasso picked up a scrap of paper and quickly drew a copy of the image & offered it to him.
