The peculiar experience was heightened by the positioning of the animals, in a quiet and totally deserted space &#8211; the\u00a0mother and foal stood motionless as if scared to move.\u00a0We started to photograph the odd scene and before long we&#8217;d attracted a crowd of onlookers &#8211; who up until we&#8217;d stopped with our cameras had totally ignored the blatantly surreal vision.<\/p>\n<p>A strange thought occurred to me &#8211; the passers by were behaving exactly like the stuffed Zebras, blinkered to experience and only showing a semblance of life when directed away from normality.<\/p>\n<p>After that short distraction we entered the emporium with a most courteous greeting at the door.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_250\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-250\" style=\"width: 563px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/theflaneurstrail.co.uk\/search\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/waiter.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-250\" src=\"http:\/\/theflaneurstrail.co.uk\/search\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/waiter.jpg\" alt=\"We were greeted at the door as we entered DEYROLLE\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" srcset=\"http:\/\/theflaneurstrail.co.uk\/search\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/waiter.jpg 563w, http:\/\/theflaneurstrail.co.uk\/search\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/waiter-169x300.jpg 169w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 563px) 100vw, 563px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-250\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">We were greeted at the door as we entered DEYROLLE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Strolling down the rue du Bac searching for the taxidermist emporium Deyrolle we chanced upon a very strange sight.
